Caring for Your Fátoli Piece

Portuguese Silk

Every Fátoli design is hand-finished with Portuguese silk thread from Castelo Branco, an 800-year-old craft. This finishing is delicate and sensitive to water, please treat it with the same care you would give pure silk.

Silk is a living fibre. It does not like water, intense heat, direct sunlight, or excess humidity.

Preserve its beauty by avoiding contact with rain, water, perfume, and other chemicals. Some materials may leave a permanent mark, such as ink or lipstick. 

When not in use, store your piece wrapped in the acid-free tissue paper provided, then place it inside your Fátoli box, away from moisture and direct light. Our boxes are breathable, designed to let the silk rest.

When needed, entrust it to a professional dry cleaner.
