THE ROUND BOXES

I remember being little, wanting to own and collect hat boxes. In my mind, Grace Kelly’s overnight bag in Rear Window was round… delightfully glamourous, with its eccentric shape, polka dots and stripes, in vibrant colours or timid pastels. All done in great style.

They felt like an entry point to the world of grown women. A small vault that carried sheer pantyhose, silk slippers, an evening pearl necklace.

So, if someone asks me why our boxes are round (even though we don’t sell hats or other circular items), it’s because those little boxes represent the spark of womanhood, through the eyes of a small girl.
We shall encourage our boxes to be used to store letters from a future lover, antique jewellery inherited from a grandmother, or simply witnessing the confessions and secrets of a family.
